Realising Ambition is a flexible programme for young people in KS2 (ages 7-11) and KS3 (ages 11-14) that is designed to support the development of their social and emotional capabilities.
Description of services
Our courses are either half or full day, and can be delivered on or off site. We offer a range of options from one off days, to a six-week course or a series of six-week courses across the academic year. We can deliver to whole year groups, individual classes or referred groups with specific needs such as behavioural issues, poor attendance and those who are socially introvert. Through a range of engaging and challenging courses Realising Ambition supports young people to improve their communication, confidence and self-efficacy, manage their relationships and feelings and increase their resilience and determination. Content is decided through discussion with the school, but our courses include:

- Improving Peer Relationships
- Making Healthy Choices
- Developing Your Potential
- Transition to secondary school
Young people have the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications such as Asdan short courses in English Language, PSHE, Sex and Relationships, Sport and Fitness and Volunteering.
Realising Ambition was delivered to 5 schools in Basingstoke, New Forest and Southampton from September 2013 to July 2015. During this period 154 young people aged 11-14 were supported through the programme, and achieved significant outcomes including 60% reporting increased confidence, 70% better at overcoming challenges, 62% better at handling emotions and 80% learnt to better communicate with others. Schools also reported improved outcomes for those involved with 50% seeing an improvement in confidence, 100% improvement in team work and 50% improvement in young people expressing themselves.
