Developing Potential

Developing Potential is a flexible programme for young people in KS4 that is designed to support the development of their social and emotional capabilities.

Description of services

Our courses are either half or full day, and can be delivered on or off site. We offer a range of options from one off days, to a six-week course or a series of six-week courses across the academic year. We can deliver to whole year groups, individual classes or referred groups with specific needs such as prefects, those at risk of being NEET, poor attenders and those who are socially introvert. Content is decided through discussion with the school, but our courses include:

  • Healthy Living
  • Communicate 4 Life
  • Respect & Relationships
  • Independent Living Skills


Young people have the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications such as Asdan short courses in English Language, PSHE, Sex and Relationships, Sport and Fitness and Volunteering, and the OCN Level 2 Leadership award.

Developing Potential aims to support the development of the following social and emotional capabilities:

There is strong evidence showing the connection between social and emotional capabilities and positive life outcomes including educational attainment, health, employment status and behaviour.
